Enclave Audio is a pioneer in wireless home theater systems and two of their offerings, the CineHome II and CineHome Pro are great choices, but how do they compare? Let's check out more about Enclave Audio and the similarities and differences of the CineHome II and CineHome Pro systems.
Enclave Audio and WiSA
Enclave Audio was founded in 2014 with the goal of providing a wireless solution for home theater audio that is easy to set up as a soundbar but provides a full multi-speaker home theater surround sound experience without the burden and clutter of wired speakers.
Teaming up with WiSA (The Wireless Speaker Association), Enclave Audio employed wireless audio transmission technology into a 5.1 channel home theater system, the CineHome HD which had a successful production run, receiving excellent reviews for its groundbreaking approach to home theater audio.
Using the knowledge gained from its first-generation system, Enclave Audio has since released two additional systems, the CineHome II and the CineHome Pro. Both systems are also 5.1 channel wireless systems, but the CineHome Pro takes it up a notch with larger speakers, subwoofer, and THX certification.
How Enclave CineHome Systems Work
Enclave CineHome systems are packaged with a central CineHub, five speakers (left, center, right, left, surround, right surround) and a separate subwoofer.
Amplifiers are built into each speaker and subwoofer, rather than the CineHub.
Using WiSA technology, the speakers and subwoofer receive audio signals from the CineHub wirelessly but need to be plugged into an AC outlet to supply power to their built-in amplifiers.
Once the CineHub, speakers, and subwoofer are plugged into power and turned on, the CineHub identifies each speaker and its locations. Each speaker is labeled as to its channel identification.
Using an easy setup procedure, including speaker detection, distance, and levels are facilitated by the Enclave Control App.
The CineHub connects to a TV via an HDMI ARC/eARC connection, enabling audio signals to be transferred from the TV to the Enclave CineHome system's CineHub. The CineHub accepts stereo or decodes Dolby Digital or DTS surround signals and sends them wirelessly using Wi-Fi-based WiSA technology to the correct speakers. For stereo-only sources, signals are sent to the left/right front channel speakers, but Enclave Audio also provides a Whole Room Stereo setting that utilizes all the speakers for more room-filling sound.
Note: If your TV is not HDMI-ARC/eARC compatible, the Enclave systems also allow a TV to be connected to the system using analog stereo, or digital optical connections.
Music streaming and voice control are not built-in but can be provided by the TV or other devices connected to the TV. This avoids feature duplication between devices, the TV, and the CineHome system.
The CineHome systems don't come with a physical remote control. However, the CineHub can be controlled by the TV remote. Enclave Audio also provides a smartphone control app (iOS and Android) which also aids in system setup.
The Enclave Audio Control App
The Enclave Audio control app (Android/iOS) supports the setup and operation of the CineHome II and Pro systems.
When the Cinehub, speakers, and subwoofer are plugged in and powered on, the app confirms that the speakers are connected by displaying a graphic of your speaker setup. For example, if you set up all five speakers and subwoofers and one of these shows missing, check that power is connected and that you have turned on the speaker power on/off switch. Then choose the Reset Wireless prompt on the setup screen.
Note: Refer to our home theater setup and speaker placement tips.
Once your system is up and running, you can use the control app to do the following:
- Adjust speaker distance and individual speaker volume trim. Test and calibrate each individual speaker simply by touching its graphical representation in the app.
- Adjust Dolby Pro Logic II and Dolby Dynamic Range settings
- Use Whole Room Stereo, a room-filling stereo audio mode allowing for movie dialogue, or enhanced music listening through all your system speakers.
- Switch the inputs to access connected devices.
- Update Firmware. This ensures you get new features and any bug fixes.
For Roku TV owners, the CineHome systems are compatible with the Roku TV Ready™ feature. You can then use the Roku TV's own remote control to control the system.
For other compatible TVs and devices, Enclave Audio CineSync offers the same onscreen setup and control flexibility as the Enclave Mobile App via the TV or device remote.
Enclave Audio also sells an optional remote that controls basic functions, if you need it.
Note: The CineHome Control app is not compatible with the first-generation Enclave Audio CineHome HD system, which has been discontinued. There are separate Android and iOS control apps for that system.

The Bottom Line
The Enclave Audio CineHome wireless home theater systems deliver a home theater audio experience beyond what your TV's built-in speakers or a soundbar can provide without adding connection complexity by incorporating a WiSA-certified wireless speaker setup.
CineHome II and CineHome Pro systems can be set up in about 10 minutes. They will work with any TV to provide full 5.1 channel surround sound, but you will get the best results with TVs that include HDMI-ARC/eARC connectivity.
If you are looking for something modest, the CineHome II provides compact speakers and subwoofer, but if you have a more flexible budget, larger space, and want enhanced performance, the CineHome Pro provides larger speakers, a larger, more powerful subwoofer, and also meets THX certification standards.
